Bank of America Gives $2,500 to the Garden City Library Foundation

SUBJECT:   The Garden City Library Foundation has been awarded a grant of $2,500 from Bank of America for programs at the Library.   
Garden City, ID, July 17, 2009 – The Garden City Public Library Foundation has been awarded a grant of $2,500 by Bank of America.  The grant will support special programs in the Library.   Garden City Library is the “Number One Circulating Library in the Lynx! Consortium per capita”.  Last year the library put on nearly 500 programs with over 16,000 in attendance, which exceeds the number of residence in the city.  “Providing support to organizations like the Garden City Library Foundation, which sets their own higher standards in service and improve the quality of life in our communities, is key to our strategy to build capacities that truly make a difference, “ says Kathy Burney, The Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Inc.
Garden City Library is an integral part of the community and an outstanding example of successful library programming.  “The demand for libraries and their services continue to grow, this year we have seen a 20% increase in usage,” says Beverly Knapp, Foundation chair.  “We are grateful to Bank of America for their support.”
